Competition Season at Emerald Gymnastics Club

Competition season is one of the most exciting times of the year at Emerald Gymnastics Club. It is the period where months of hard work, discipline, dedication, and perseverance come together on the competition floor. Every routine tells a story of commitment, courage, and continuous growth.

This season has been especially memorable as many of our gymnasts competed for the very first time. Stepping onto the competition floor can be both exciting and nerve wracking, but our young athletes demonstrated incredible courage and determination. We are proud of every gymnast who represented Emerald Gymnastics Club with confidence, respect, and sportsmanship.

As our competition season continues, our gymnasts are preparing for the upcoming Gauteng District Competition, where Levels 1 to 3 will have the opportunity to qualify for their Gauteng Junior Colours. Regardless of the results, every competition is another opportunity to learn, improve, and celebrate progress.

Tips for Parents

Parents play an important role in creating a positive competition experience. Here are a few ways you can support your child:

• Arrive at the venue early to allow your child time to settle and warm up.

• Ensure your child arrives competition ready with their hair, makeup, and competition attire completed before arrival.

• Pack all competition essentials, including their leotard, apparatus, tracksuit, water bottle, healthy snacks, and any other required items.

• Encourage your child to eat a light, nutritious meal before competing and to stay hydrated throughout the day.

• Offer words of encouragement rather than pressure. Celebrate effort, courage, and improvement, not just medals or placements.

• Respect coaches, judges, volunteers, and competition coordinators. Their role is to ensure a fair, safe, and enjoyable competition for every gymnast.

• Stay until the end of the competition whenever possible and celebrate every gymnast’s achievements.

Growing Champions

At Emerald Gymnastics Club, our vision extends far beyond competitions.
